We believe law graduates need to be prepared for the complex legal challenges and opportunities that await them. That’s why Swinburne offers a new approach to legal education.

Our law degree courses emphasise creativity, innovation and commercial law (including copyright and patents). We prioritise small class sizes, accessible academic staff and strong industry connections so you can learn from the best.

You’ll gain practical skills with regular Moot Court and advocacy activities. You’ll also complete three professional experience placements during your law degree – with each offering unique opportunities to gain industry insight and build valuable connections.

Opportunities to expand your expertise is possible with our broad range of double degrees; couple law with disciplines like business, engineering or computer science.

Choose Swinburne’s dual award and you could apply to practice law on the day you graduate.

With a law degree from Swinburne, you’ll be in a great position to help shape the legal system for the fast-paced future ahead.

  • "I heard about Swinburne’s new Law School via a radio ad and thought I would check it out. When I first came to the campus I was amazed at just how accessible the university was. There is a real sense of community at the Law School. My placement in commercial law gave me a true, raw experience of a barrister’s day-to-day activities and work."

"This experience has given me the foundations to build upon, to one day become a great international advocate for Indonesian relations, whether it be in law or commerce," he says.
